PTSD is not just seen in veterans. PTSD can be the result of abuse, sexual assault or any event, single or continued which overwhelms our ability to cope in the moment. Lauren is trained in many effective treatment options for PTSD.
Using drugs and alcohol can be a means to numbing the pain we experience. Lauren understands some use of drugs and alcohol are a symptom of that pain and comes from a harm-reduction stance rather than an "abstinence only" view.
Sex is a product of intimacy. Issues involving sex can stem from many places and Lauren has the knowledge, expertise and training to identify and treat the root of sexual issues.
Having panic attacks can be an incredibly frightening experience. Therapy can teach skills to deal with panic attacks in the moment as well as address contributing factors to prevent further attacks.
